Re: Small Cap Bottom Fishing

I just got quoted 204.76 for ASCI with the offer at 208.0 so the actual spread is not as wide as it appears, at least for a small purchase.

Re: Why bother with moderation?

Moderation is a must.

As otherwise, once the barbarian hoards arrive the site will sink into the swamp of stupidity and ignorance that infects other unmoderated sites.

Re: Aberdeen irruption (Waxwings)

Cheers Clariman, It is around 10 years since I last saw them in Aberdeen but I know they at least pass through each winter and always keep one eye out. The last time I saw them was in the company board room which looked out onto a tree canopy about 15 feet away. It was a smaller group of about 20 bi...

Aberdeen irruption

Spotted around 100 waxwings out and about in Aberdeen today gorging themselves on the plentiful berries we have this year. Absolutely beautiful birds, very distinctive due to the crest so easy to identify once you have seen them once. Hopefully they will stick around for a while. p.s. if you are con...

I came across this guide to SIPP platforem fees on Money Observer

AJ Bell (SIPPdeal) comes out pretty well but there are good alternatives.

Wade Pfau's blog. https://retirementresearcher.com/ He has discussed the 4% rule and a number of other withdrawal strategies and their pros and cons. 2. Portfolio charts https:/...

Re: Current market drop - any bargains?

I've noticed that a number of the UK Equity Income investment trusts are trading at around a 10% discount at the moment. I can't remember the discounts being as large before so they are well worth a look if you are starting out or want to add a bit of instant diversity to your HYP. Yields are in the...

Re: Minimum sum for minimum fee SIPP

Try AJ Bell.

They charge 0.25% up to a maximum of £25 per quarter. They also have a regular investment service at £1.50 a trade.
