Re: Northern Linked Offer

That's a little too much for me to commit this time around

Why not use the DRIS - you still get the reflief and you only pay the NAV for the shares instead of NAV + in the offers?

These all seem to be trading at a large premium to their Net Asset Value.

True - but so are bonds, retail bonds and pref shares.

Re: Help with S.O.A

Without wishing to be rude - surely a £13,000 income per month is enough without having to cut anything.

Did you mean to put in £13,000 per year?

Re: Asset Allocation - Bond Proxies

I wonder if the Green Infrastructure funds are the closest things to "Bond Proxies" Their revenues mostly come from government backed subsidies and power prices. They yield about 6% now and the boards have all promised to raise dividends in line with RPI They are BSIF, FSFL, JLEN. NESF, TR...

Re: VCT Cash Piles

A big thank-you for this - again The Albion Top up offers 2016/17) are for £4 million for each plus up to another £2 million each if needed. What is also apparent is that the cash piles cost big time in terms of the Manager's fee and the longer they are held the more they are devalued by this fee. S...

Sorry to be so long coming back on this - Christmas, Meetings, Grandchildren have kept me busy! First you need a source of data. You can get share prices going back to 1986 from ADVFN.CO.UK (useful site). I think you have to register but there is a free option. You can set up a 'Monitor' List on it ...

Re: Identifying shares with limited trading ranges

I am not sure that these lights actually do deter burglars - it is sometimes too easy to ' hide ' behind the light as it were, thus rendering yourself invisible to on-lookers and that is aside from the fact that in rural locations where we value the night skies they are intrusive - to neighbours and...

Ask yours if they will show it to you Ha ha - the local post office seems to pre-print the demands so I usually say good morning to the postman before he puts stuff in the box. He just has the card saying I have to pay - not the offending letter. It's a 14 mile round trip to the post office that ha...
