Wd. be very interested to know why you are selling all your housebuilder shares. Do you think the housing market is about to collapse? OT here so where can we air this important subject?

I got twice as much as usual this month, ie. 2 x £25 instead of the usual one. A lousy return on £50k. I must move to Surrey where so many of the big prizes gravitate to.
I just moved from Surrey and can tell you that sadly it is not so.

Re: Premium Bonds
Well, if you look at the list of large prizewinners, Surrey figures several times, considerably more than other areas.

Re: Premium Bonds
This article discusses the "luckiest" counties, and notes London has had 22 million winners, Surrey 16 and Buckinghamshire a measly 5: https://www.lovemoney.com/guides/5317/premium-bonds-the-luckiest-counties-and-your-odds-of-winning-a-prize
It does of course say
"there are only more winners down south because more people live there and more people who live there hold Premium Bonds. So statistically people who live there are going to win more often.

Re: Premium Bonds
I see someone in Glasgow who has a total of £4 of Premium Bonds that they've held since 1964 has won £25,000 in this month's draw with one of them. The number starts 4AB.....
Bet they got a surprise!

Re: Premium Bonds
How lovely. Meanwhile, my £50k continues to produce precious little, some months nothing at all. However, the stockmarket seems to be just as much of a gamble these days and at least with Premium Bonds you can't lose your stake and they have the advantage, like all NS&I products, that NS&I will (if executors do the necessary paperwork) use their proceeds to pay IHT tax directly to HMRC before probate is granted, reducing the amount which might otherwise need to be borrowed to pay IHT which has to be paid before they can get probate and sell the assets, which makes life easier for your heirs/executors .

Could well be long dead by now. My mother had a £1 premium bond in her papers when she died a few years ago. We didn't bother to cash it in. I wonder how many of these zombie bonds are around ?
Meanwhile, our bonds continue to pay us regular amounts. Nothing startling but above the typical 1% I'd get in an ISA etc.

I have £18000 worth of Premium Bonds and after a year haven't won anything - zilch. Is this a record?

I guess it's possible, but NS&I will make fairly strenuous efforts to make sure the prize money gets to the heirs.

I could be wrong but I thought there was a time limit after a death that the bonds went into the draw.

Impossible, if you bought in December they wouldn't have been in the January draw.

That's true, it's 12 months.
The web site is silent on what would happen if nobody informed NS&I of a death, and the bond won a prize after more than 12 months elapsed.

Why not check your mother's bond here? https://www.nsandi.com/do-i-have-any-unclaimed-prizes

If the prize was awarded more than 12 months after death it seems it might not be valid anyway.
