Welcome to anyone from TMF or elsewhere who would like to try out Lemonfool - a set of discussion boards to replace our much loved TMF UK boards. Stooz has done a great job with this first pass implementation. Happy to receive suggestions or requests for other boards.

Thank you Clariman and Stooz.

Although I haven't posted on TMF so much lately, I still checked out the boards several times each day and was dismayed to think I was going to lose contact with so many of my cyber friends and acquaintances.

Looking forward to chatting.

Just to say how happy I am that we've found a new home, even if temporary or changeable.
If there are running costs to be met, I'm sure we happy campers would have a whip-round accordingly.

I mean, I need somewhere to keep an ongoing record of the life and demises of all my kettles ;)

Nice job, Clariman and Stooz.

I'm going to imagine that there's no way to migrate much if anything from the Fools board, but if there is and you could use some help in data format changes and so on feel free to let me know. I've done a chunk of this in a past life.

I edited one post, then spotted another typo. It didn't let me make the second edit. Not sure if there is a time limit or whether we have a single chance at editing.

Regards,
Chris

Chris,

5 minutes.

Make a request to extend.

Necessary to stop edits to stop people amending posts with hindsight and claiming infallibility.

Stooz has implemented a five-minute edit window earlier today, that allows a period of editing if you spot anything soon enough, but then locks down to avoid the clear issues that may exist on what's going to often be a primarily financially-based set of message boards.

I think that's a fair compromise, and one we didn't have at all over on the TMF site, so a clear improvement whilst avoiding the pitfalls of an editing free-for-all, and the problems that would give us.

Cheers,

Itsallaguess

The board technology does have a recs/thanks structure and Stooz will see whether that creates an equivalent of a BoB

Very pleased to know that we will still have a good selection of boards to post to. I didn't post often to TMF but I lurked a lot every day and found it a great source of info about so many topics, even though I preferred the 'social' side to the financial one !

Hello All,

Just announcing my migration along with many other Fools.

We used to refer to ourselves as Fools; are we now Lemons?

Best regards to all

I've been a Fool since '99, but I've not been very Foolish of late, and only today did I discover that the TMF board has closed. :o

Well done for setting up this new board. I'm sure that it'll be better than the outdated TMF board, as it's more versatile, but it'll be a shame to lose the TMF archive.
