Black Friday

I celebrated Black Friday by not spending any money at all!

OK I was at home using heating and eating food already bought but it felt like one small personal victory against the consumerist machine.

Since it appears to have become Black Friday Week, you have got plenty of time yet.

I was lucky to have been able to buy a top-brand 750GB SSD for the usual price of the 500GB model. That great price isn't available any more.

The SSD purchase was going to happen this side of January anyway, so when I got an extra 50% storage capacity for no extra price, well it felt like a small personal victory against the consumerist machine....

I grabbed one of those as well at the best price thus far. http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/Crucial-M ... B01DUNLMUU

Just need to figure out how to swap it into my lappy now & transfer data ...

I also got a great deal on a Bosch ALB 36 LI Cordless 36 V Lithium Ion Leaf Blower. I got it for £110.99 off Amazon (now showing as either £89.81 without the 36v [2.6Ah] battery or £199.95 with). Seems the battery alone is on sale for more than that in most shops. http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/Bosch-ALB ... B00GZLFQ4I

I also snaffled a Windows 10 Pro licence, just in case I needed one to install on the SSD, for £12.38 (minus 10.4% Topcashback).

I never thought I would see the words "leaf blower" on a LBYM board!

Or was that some sort of a wind-up?

I have to admit to having a leaf blower...£5 from the local boot sale! Is that OK?

What are these "leaf blowers" you speak of?

I have my butler go out with a dustpan and brush. Doesn't everyone?

I upgraded my mobile contract with O2, so now instead of paying £22 a month for 2GB of data (inc. plus calls & texts) I'm now paying £20 a month for 20GB of data. 5 times the data for £2 a month less.

Marvellous! The children will be happy as they can easily use 2GB on a long car journey.
