Or even if there was just a single one (pyad-style) the devotees would say it's enough! ;)

OK, I get the joke, but it isn't true. To be really funny, it would have to have a core of truth, and I doubt this has.

I would have loved pyad to carry on with other HYPs and so would other hypers.
Testimony to that is that several people did actually try to carry on with the nascent HYPs, but just to show how difficult it is, they did not run for very long. And I'm not referring to Gengulphus who unfortunately died, but there were others - and they faded out quickly.

There was a Monevator HYP https://monevator.com/the-monevator-dem ... -a-bit-on/ but that looks like the last post which was the 5th year review in 2016

pyad did start an HYP2, HYP3 and HYP4. HYP2 was the same format as HYP1 - £75,000 invested at one time – while HYP3 and HYP4 were to be built over time assuming regular cash injections. Sadly, none were reported beyond a year or two.

In 2019, pyad started another HYP on Stockopedia, which was reported here. It was purchased over a 4 week period in March/April. I manage and report on the progress of two versions of this latest offering – Drawdown and Reinvest. pyad’s original set-up for this exercise can be found here:

HYP 2023 Drawdown

Earlier this year, I created a “one-shot” demonstration HYP, the set-up of which can be found here:

Progress can be found here:

The thinking behind this latest offering has evolved somewhat from pyad’s original “15 Holdings only”. It involved splitting the overall Portfolio investment into equal amounts within 20 Business Sectors, some where there is a further split between 2 holdings. However the management is the same – No Trading, Income Drawdown.

It is my current intention to split off a Trading version of this latest offering, as and when its Income by Business Sector becomes unbalanced, something that is yet to happen.

With the three Demonstration HYP’s managed by myself, I am comparing the results with what might have been achieved by simply investing in one of various Investment Trusts. In this regard, if anyone can suggest a suitable contestant, I shall be happy to include it, just so long as the appropriate set-up, pricing and income details are easily obtainable. But of course, it does take time to achieve the meaningful results over multiple years, or even decades, that can now be reported for HYP1.

Enjoy!

Thanks for all the work you are doing in this regard. Let's hope your HYPs will add to our knowledge on the subject and become recognised as a resource for discussion. As you say, there is an enormous amount of work involved in these projects and I'm frankly not surprised Pyad therefore discontinued the task if he lacked the neceesary motivation or purpose. Particularly, as it is thankless if ulitmately all you get is sniping from the gallery!

Hello pyad,
Thankyou for this update of HYP1. I think it's marvellous, APPROX £100 per WEEK.. income for twenty three years puts it more in perspective for me.
My own HYP is much smaller but has produced about £2000 per year for the last 20 years.

Thanks again for what you have done!.

If I might add, what a refreshing post from you ponym. Only your second post on these boards too. I hope we see more from you hereabouts in the future.

Ian.
