Total posts count

Yesterday I noted the 20,000th post was said to have arrived, if the "Total posts" count was to believed.

I realise that Testing123 posts go every so often but I'm not sure if the count goes down when they go. However and come what may, the post count is presently down to 19,923 and I doubt this has anything to do with Testing123.

How come?

There is a board for Moderators only and another for Stooz and I. Sometimes these get pruned so that may be it. Also one spammer had half a dozen posts deleted this morning.

That might be it (the moderators board) but I think the latest spam attack was some time after I saw the 20,000. All makes my LoOTPian celebration of the first 20,000 rather pointless, although groundhog day has some appeal.

I see the 2000th recorded user in the member count still exists, as you say, but the 2000th user id does not:

memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2000

The user id number didn't start at one, as evidenced here:

memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=1

stooz being 2 and Clariman 48. I doubt anyone is in between those numbers but haven't checked.

I think 20,000 was a month ago. On the front page it says 28396 now.
