As the doors get slammed shut on TMF, please feel free to use this site for your needs.

There are some great helpers on TMF, and the logic is there should be a bit of a committee here to steer its direction, but for now at least come in out of the cold and take a biccy.

Please feel free to suggest new forums or sub forums, but I think we need to be careful not to flood it with rooms and take the opportunity to embrace any changes TMF needed. But im am all ears to get things running so that you can at least keep talking to the right people for the right subjects.

Not a problem! - I have shortened the minimum to 4, and enabled the ability to rename yourself!

Thanks for setting this up so quickly and giving us a place to go and hopefully keep in touch even if something else happens.

If it turns out to be popular then we can look at the financial and maintenance implications in more detail later, but given the ridiculously short notice that TMF gave us this is invaluable.

One thing I should mention. The authorisation link email that I received was flagged in Mailwasher as spam by the Spamhaus lists. You might want to look into that as some people may have systems that filter it automatically.

Many thanks for this. It is a bit of a knee-jerk reaction, but someone had to do something quickly to get the ball rolling due to the crazy short notice we were given.

It does look like fairly generic forum software, but there are certainly some advantages over the TMF board format. We just have to get used to change.

It certainly has my support, unless something which is very obviously better comes along. Unlikely I suspect, given the timescales.

Thanks for the comments. When Stooz and I worked together in the past, he always got things done really quickly.

As you'll imagine, we wanted to get something going promptly so Stooz put together this starter for ten. We can refine things between now and TMF closing and beyond - or you can just use it as a forum to discuss doing something elsewhere. That's fine by us.

Thanks very much for the quick work! I realise I'm at risk of asking for the moon and stars, but two of the real strengths of TMF are (were?) the breadth of discussion boards, financial and non financial, and secondly the accumulated posts over the years. Plus of course the extremely helpful posters with detailed knowledge.

Is there ANY chance of replicating those on Lemon Fools?

Computer help - Suggest putting "computer" first rather than last in board name. Makes it easier to find.
