Re: Requests for specific Motley Fool UK boards to be added
So many requests!
I just can't answer everyone but we are reading them.
No one should just sign off if a board doesn't exist, we can and will react to requests.
Any topic can be started and moved to its own place afterwards. Just post where you see fit for the short term
Excuse my ignorance, is fire not dissimilar to the retirement board?

If you called it '(Early) Retirement Planning' rather than 'Retirement Investing' you might just about get all FIRE, early retirement and retirement topics under one board which I think would be useful vs multiple boards.
That said, I'm not worried nor pedantic. As a soon to be FIRE'ee I've settled in nicely to the Retirement Investing board.

Can i suggest we leave it for a moment then until it reaches a tipping point where the wood is thicker than the trees?

Absolutely no problem. As I mentioned I'm neither worried nor pedantic and have settled in nicely. What I find funny is that I never really settled on TMF but here I feel like I already have my feet up.

No problem at all to use the Retirement board; it was more of a 'ooh, new boards, moon on a stick!' request! We'll just chat amongst ourselves over there, and see if we become a movement

Re: Requests for specific Motley Fool UK boards to be added
Although I do like RIT''s suggestion of Retirement Planning, instead of the present Retirement Investing, to encourage it to broaden out a little into wide debates about the concept of retirement, and how to plan/ prepare/ enact it. But it's a '1467th on the wish list' sort of request, as I'm sure you're very busy solving technical issues at present, and doing whatever it was you thought you were doing this weekend before Thursday!

Many thanks again for setting up Lemon Fool and trying to keep us all happy. A lot of the financial boards have made it, but I'm not sure if anyone has requested a Wildlife or Rural or Gardening board - maybe rolled into one board?

What do you mean see of we become a movement. Us FIRE'ees or soon to be FIRE'ees are already a movement! The great thing is now we have a board to talk about it.

Social Events (London) and Social Events (outside London)
I think these would be a better fit in the lemon Lounge area, rather than under Travel/London Lovers etc
No hurry, it normally takes months to organise socials anyway !

Joking aside, if we do have to have one and some form of reccing/BoB system is introduced, please can it be like TMF where posts there don't qualify for the BoB? It's a breeding ground for some of the most unedifying exchanges to be found anywhere on the Fool and personally I think it's best left out of the limelight.
Just my view, perhaps we should have a referendum...

A couple of questions if I may?
Php boards I've use elsewhere have an excellent poll functionality. Polls can be a useful way of starting a meaningful discussion. Like this one.
http://boards.fool.co.uk/poll-personise ... 51346.aspx
...... And the 'Around the UK' doesnt seem to have a way of adding a board (I assume you're meant to set up a sub board like 'Scotland' , 'Wales' etc?
I need to sort polls.. its on the todo list..
Please create a Scotland topic, and its more a case of if its cluttered by area, I will move them under a new heading. Currently there are no topics. So I didnt want to create boards that may remain empty..

I think the point being made was "Around the UK" and the other one don't appear to have a "Post a Topic" box.

I've sacked the hamster and installed a new one.
Please can you tell me if you see the "new topic" option?

Yes, or at least I see one now in "Airport Lounge" which wasn't there earlier today.

Are investment trusts being covered under a different heading? It's beginning to look conspicuous by it's absence.
I hope that doesn't sound like criticism because it's not, I'm just wondering.
I'm stunned at what has been achieved in such a short time.

Re: Requests for specific Motley Fool UK boards to be added
Please add a Technical Analysis Board. I am willing to serve as moderator if required. The Motley Fool TA board was very well mannered and those who did not consider it of value were not in evidence. The Fool established the rule that TA was not to be raised on other Boards and this worked well for TA-ers although, personally, I think that it deprived the company Boards of relevant content.
