Mobeus - cheque v bank transfer

#80063

Postby marcin667 » September 9th, 2017, 8:54 am

Hello

I have a quick question. I intend to apply for the Mobeus VCTs, and the form provides for two options: I could send a cheque, or make a bank transfer. I am applying for the VCT via Club Finance. Does it matter whether I send a cheque or make a bank transfer? I am not a big fan of cheques and would prefer to just transfer the money, but I would be grateful for your thoughts.

Many thanks
Marcin

I am not sure it matters. Where you apply through a Clubfinance their Client form now asks you to complete details of the bank account you are sending from.....presumably they follow through with the VCT agent. Personally I still send cheques. Indeed looking at the stubs they are the only cheques I ever write.

There does appear to be a problem with Barclays Bank over electronic transfers.
Mobeus are asking applicants to apply with cheques

Personally I have had my Barclays sort codes changed at the end of August but
only notified me in mid September. This is causing some considerable problems
through non matching sort codes particularly on cheques as it takes 2/3 weeks to
get a new chequebook!

Another Barclays Bank problem to go with their "super broker" website
