Shares will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis in respect of valid applications, with a minimum subscription of £6,000 in total and £2,000 per VCT.

That's a little too much for me to commit this time around, so I think I'll top up my options trading project instead.

Why not use the DRIS - you still get the reflief and you only pay the NAV for the shares instead of NAV + in the offers?

My letter to shareholders arrived in this morning's post.

I note that electronic transfers are forbidden, it is cheques only to make it easier for them to return unsatisfied applications. Furthermore, as applications can only be made by post they are allowing applicants to write in their financial advisor details to save paperwork having to be routed via such advisor.
The application form will be made available on the NVM website at 08:00 on Tuesday 7 February, and presumably advisors like Clubfinance will make their own versions available at a similar time to save clients writing in the advisor details.
However, it is still then a postal lottery as to the time it takes to get from your local postbox to Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Furthermore, what do they do when a sackful of applications is dumped on a desk and as they go through them they go over the limit. I assume all others are rejected which means applications arriving on that day are effectively in another lottery.

I don't know if I can be bothered.

What do you reckon, full by Friday 10th Feb ?

I think there is no chance of this getting to non existing shareholders which only comes into play at the end of Friday 17th.

I've changed my mind, having just done another self assessment return this evening. Ouch.

Apologies for a quick question.

Can anybody remind me of the date of the NVM seminar next month? I have left the documentation at home and need to book the day off work.

Many thanks,

Gostevie

Hi Gostevie

I have raked the cover letter out of the bin and the seminar is on Tuesday, 28th February, with replies required by the end of next week.

I've sent in a separate application to each company (ticking the box to reallocate to the others if full) in a separate envelope, sent from a separate post box to maximise my chances of getting some allocation in the lottery (and diversifying postal risk). I know I already have a big advantage in that central London post boxes are emptied throughout the day rather than a single end of day collection.

It is all a bit silly isn't it.

I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to download the document around 8:02 am. I had feared that the site may have been overwhelmed by downloads from potential investors.
My application has been posted - I wonder if a Scottish application reaches Newcastle before a London one?
I expect I'll receive the first class postal version of the prospectus later today - or possibly tomorrow (from past experience of bulky email).

Note the Royal Mail 'guaranteed next day by 9am' service. 19 pounds (!) well spent today.

My offer document finally arrived in the post today, the postman missed it on his first delivery but came back a few minutes later!

I was intrigued to read that NVM will be opening its offices to receive applications from 7.00 am on the 7th.
How did they expect someone to deliver an application during the first hour when the forms weren't even available?
Interesting to see that they are keeping their offices open for deliveries 11 hours a day this week (from Tuesday).
Are they expecting masses of locals making hand-deliveries?

Well, todays postal delivery has just arrived - with no documents from Northern, yet both myself and my wife are certificated Northern VCT Investors.

It looks like first class mail doesn't function with bulky packages a short distance north of Glasgow. Thankfully the electronic distribution of the prospectus levels the playing field somewhat, however I wonder how long my first class mail takes in the reverse direction.

To all VCT managers - how about using Electronic communications in both directions!

Quite amusing really cos they do - it's called the DRIS and with a NVT dividends of 13p per share this tax year and 12 p last year - you could have had a huge swatch. Increase your holding by 8% per year with no fuss even with their normal dividends.
