Am I right in thinking a few here hold Octopus Titan or Apollo VCT?

Did you hear one of the investee companies is set for an AIM float?

News to me, and yes I hold.

Well, I've carried camping gear by bike a fair few times, but a regular mattress? :o If they're offering a 100-day home trial, I might easily be tempted!

Indeed. Also note Hargreave Hale AIM VCT took a 3pc stake in the float

Since the rules preclude VCTs supplying replacement capital, I guess that must mean this was new money and existing investors weren't selling stakes. Or is that hopelessly naïve?

I went to a presentation by the Octopus Ventures folks a few years back (just about when the Graze sale generated the big special divi). This reads like a classic instance of the approach they presented.

Do you mean getting intro’d by another early stage fund?

Not exactly. But maintaining an extensive associate network, which I guess is related. And backing people in which Octopus has lots of faith: hence for instance Chesterman back when Zoopla (at least the website) was a rightmove-wannabe that didn't even work.
