About 3 days ago I saw several sources report that the Nationwide/Dominic West adevert had been banned
Last night I saw it 3 or 4 times, whats going on?

Was the one one you saw last night the one about telling customers when the interest rates changed? Like nationwide do? The customer satisfaction one?
The one that was banned was the one about shutting branches. The ad said Nationwide doesn't do that - but actually they do, the technicality of how the information was detailed fell foul of the ads standards people.

This looks like the snug?
So I can have a whinge about having been misled by my trust in the ads standards...
I was brought up to believe that Becks was "only ever brewed in Bremen Gernmany" ... and I took that "only ever" at face value. That it was the only place Becks was ever brewed.
...dear reader it isn't
They claim the stuff in Australia is "brewed under license" but I honestly think they just stick a label on whatever backwash is floating around in their barrels... it tastes nothing like Becks, which the last time I had it still isn't full of "Pride of Ringwood" hops
But hey adverts.. was it Keith Chegwin on a model train that convinced young me that I could trust them? Or the guy being stuck to some wallpaper under a helicopter?

Re: Nationwide advert
Oh yeah and I forgot to add, those that complained about the Nationwide ad to get it pulled were Santander.

Re: Nationwide advert
That smug ad annoys the sh:t out of me. Nationwide have closed dozens of branches in the past couple of years including my local one and their disingenuous claims make me wonder what else they bend the truth about. This and their recent acquisition of Virgin Money makes me distrust them massively. When building societies get greedy it never ends well. The so called pigeon rebrand is another negative.
