Hi All - just popped here as I have only just discovered that Fool UK boards have closed! Shows how often I visited the site recently - at the end of the 1990's the site dominated most of my time!

Any how, just looking for some advice... I am going to Colombia on Monday, anyone know if you can get 'tourist sims' at the airport for short term data only?

The info in these might be of help>

I've travelled around that region, but not Columbia itself. One thing seems to be a common theme where ever you are flying to on arrival though, if you can hold off buying a SIM at the airport you'll always get a better deal when you get 'down-town' where you can ask the hotel concierge for advice, or a local friend.

Hello

I spent a couple of weeks in Colombia in 2014 and I bought a sim, but not at the airport. And don't change much money there, the rate was much better at the hotel / just taking cash out. I only visited Bogota, but I quite enjoyed the place (even if my hosts almost pooed their pants when I told them I'd walked to work. Apparently most of Bogota is safer, just not the part I walked though.

I have found the http://prepaid-data-sim-card.wikia.com/wiki/Prepaid_SIM_with_data prepaid with data site pretty reliable in the past.

http://prepaid-data-sim-card.wikia.com/wiki/Colombiahas quite a few details on mobile phone companies in Colombia. It doesn't mention any with outlets at the airport though.
