We used to use spot on wormers for our two tabbies, who were both voracious hunters - rats and rabbits were their speciality - and on the whole they did a good job.

The Bob Martin ones from the supermarket were good against tapeworm, and they were also supposed to work on roundworm (which we never saw). But once a year we'd have them done with the expensive one from the vet, just to be on the safe side. They both lived happily to a ripe old age, so we must have been doing something right.

If you think delivering pills to your Charley is a pain, just hope that he never needs thyroid pills, which have to be administered daily. Most cats can get used to that eventually, but for those that don't it's a daily battle of wits. I have the scars (mental and physical) to prove it.
