Quite enjoyed this a while ago and agree the kid was surprisingly good

We did however make sure to configure Netflix for german audio with english subs!
- for whatever reason, despite always doing this, Netflix invariably tries to present us the dubbed version initially when we start watching a non-english-language show... which detracts significantly from the viewing

"1899" made for a particularly weird experience where it was a plot point that all the folk on the boat were speaking different languages and could not communicate very well - which becomes amusing more than anything else when they are all dubbed in to English

Using remote:
Pause... check settings.... change.... restart

Specific steps really depend on what you're watching it on
- but I think the process is probably similar
