This Australian 4-parter made by ABC is on BBC iplayer. Based on the book by Christos Tsiolkas (an Aussie of Greek roots).

The story follows the development of a talented young swimmer, both in the pool and out, with the emphasis on his evolving relationships and character. Well-written (on the whole - a couple of dialogue exchanges didn't ring true to me - but this was in 4 hours of viewing) and well acted. A great story with an interesting, not always sympathetic protagonist. Highly recommended.
