Tales of the Unexpected

#20453

Postby robbelg » January 5th, 2017, 5:51 pm

Just watched 2 episodes one with Derek Jacobi the other with Harry H Corbett & Fulton McKay

On Sky Arts - they have dozens of episodes all available on demand

A bit slow and dated but still worth a watch

Did you mean "Lamb to the Slaughter"? If so, it's on YouTube

Thanks for the memory. Classic stuff, some of which can still chill me now. (And others make me laugh - anybody remember the bogus antique dealer and the priceless French chest which [whoops, spoiler deleted]?) John Gielgud, no less. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vur_qMcxxBA

Perhaps most of all, I remember that opening theme - of the gyrating female silhouette, accompanied by that maddening saxophone tune that went round and round and round and round....

....and round and round, and round and round, as if it was grinding its way through the walls of your sanity. Fabulous.

I remember the umbrella-man episode, and the clever associated scam. By complete coincidence, and for reasons unknown, I recalled that programme and show just a week ago; weird since I don't think I've seen it since the 1970's.
Not joking either.... maybe a tale from the unexpected itself? :)
