Check the third paragraph, which ends with..."was trying to nab the £145.45 Vouchermine deal on black Friday when her online shopping went awry, reports ChronicleLive.."

Doh! indeed. It took me a full 60 seconds to see what was wrong. Serious caffeine deficiency.

I don't see the problem. His name is Chris Ridley so his wife must be Mrs Ridley.

That's not naming her so she hasn't been named, as she wishes.

Doesn't need one, he's already given us a ridley to ponder over. :D

..... But, since it's a slow morning, my father used to work with a Ridley, who was universally known in the office as Jimmy. Of course, Jimmy Riddle has always had a particular urinary meaning to Londoners, which would surely have perplexed and upset the American country star of the same name (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Riddle).

But hey ho, a name that makes the British snigger is nothing new to the world of country music. I hear that the Nashville fraternity have their very own sexually transmitted disease. Apparently it's called Boxcar Willie. :D

Will that do? And will somebody please explain it to LalaDonny?

Country Singers Merle Haggard and Tex Withers both could have picked stage names.

Cockney rhyming slang, innit? Riddle < Piddle < Urination.

Not that Piddle is a very familiar term in the States, I gather? But then, the language gap runs both ways. I used to belong to a US forum where I learned that being pissed (without an accompanyng "off") can mean being annoyed. Not on this side of the pond, it doesn't. ;)

But worse was to come. When they said that an athlete was ripped, I assumed he'd had a terrible accident.

Told a Texan I shared a house with that he should really stop bumming fags - things can get lost in translation even when you're not translating

I was at a restaurant in America with two friends. The waitress came up and said, "Hi, I'm Mary, how can I help you today?"
My friend Randy answered, "Hi! I'm Randy how can I help you today?"

Perhaps you had to have been there...
