I saw the above in an article, and wondered what benefits the space program brought, to confirming dark matter exists. Anyone know?
I'm not an astrophysicist but I don't think that the existence of dark matter has been confirmed, merely that more evidence points that way. I may have missed some recent news though.
A year ago, the Chinese launched the Dark Matter Particle Explore (DAMPE) satellite:
