Layout software

#2163

Postby RedSnapper » November 8th, 2016, 1:07 pm

Hi all, I was a long term lurker on the other site and thought I'd take the opportunity of the change to raise my head :D

As one part of my business I mount artwork and prints for artists. This can, and often does, require cutting a number of different size pieces of board from a large single piece. Where the pieces required are standard sizes it's straight forward to plan the cutting to make the most of the board. Where I have more difficulty is when I have a number of non-standard sizes to cut. I need to work out the best way to lay them out to both maximise cost effectiveness and also to keep waste to a minimum (I Hate waste!).

So, DAK of any simple software that would work out the best way of cutting the board, given a set of required sizes and the standard size of the starting board?

Do ask if this makes no sense.

Wow AYB, that's absolutely perfect, and free as well.

Thank you.
