Print off copy of doc on the 'High St'

#22801

Postby AleisterCrowley » January 13th, 2017, 11:01 am

I need to print off a couple of sheets of a word doc. I don't have a home printer and cant be fagged with the 4 mile round trip to head office.
Do any major High St chains (Boots? WH Smith?) have a doc printing service so I can take along a memory stick and print off a few pages? I know you can do this with photos

I'll try Snappy Snaps - that's a local one, although they are photo -orientated

No, they probably just do photos. I'm thinking more the little print shop type places. Also, your local library.

to be honest I'd just go into a business that you normally do business with eg insurance brokers and ask if they can do you a favour for a token charity donation. Or a neighbour. etc

Staples have a printing service. Other computer shops are available.

Many printers will do a print for you.

I have had estate agents do a photocopy for me when I didn't have a scanner.

Small accountants/bookkeeping firms may also do things like that.

We have an excellent secretarial service which is just in our town, so not much help for you - except you could look for something similar! I just take stuff in and it's usually ready a few hours later. They seem to do loads of work for people - even re-writing letters for people who don't have good English. They photocopy and print and seem to have every type of machine there.

I've used an internet cafe before now to print out a ticket e-mail after the venue said they needed a paper copy (not stated beforehand). Obviously, this will depend on your location.

I occasionally do this at my local library. I have a small newsagent who can do it too.

We have a printshop facility handy provided as a service by a local architectural office. Everything available from A4 laser to full A0 colour plots at reasonable prices. You can email them a PDF or whatever and pick it up a few minutes later (longer for an A0 naturally).

Thanks all - some good suggestions.
I'd forgotten about the library - will pop along tomorrow, they have a computer area so hopefully there's a printer
