Dome - Meter fuse in car

#640669

Postby elkay » January 16th, 2024, 7:04 pm

Hi,

Whilst messing with the interior fuse box in my 2018 Suzuki Ignis, I dropped a fuse and can't locate it.

The fuse is number 17...
    16 DOME2 10A Interior light
    17 DOME 5A Meter

There doesn't appear to be anything not working in the car, but I'm wondering what it might be. I assume by DOME it relates to the location of the interior light, which is listed as DOME2. But there doesn't appear to be anything in the vicinity that might be the explanation.

Yes a dome light, well certainly in light aircraft, is the cockpit light. Not much help I'm afraid. C.

"Meter" could be things like fuel gauge, temperature gauge, are they working?

Just been out for a drive, and there was only one thing that wasn't acting as normal...The clock on the computer in the dash (not the Infotainment unit) reset to zero when the car was turned off, and Avg mpg was reset as well. But the actual trip mileage did not reset. So it is possibly related, regarding the retaining of just some values in the computer. And why it is listed as DOME2 is strange.

I'll see if I can find out in the Suzuki forums.

As luck would have it, I think I binned some car fuses a few weeks ago...

I see you've had a reply on the Suzuki forum - the explanation looks likely. (I guess that's why they call the fuse Meter?)

More about Ignis fuses at https://fuse-box.info/suzuki/suzuki-ign ... 2019-fuses. Pretty sure that yours are bog standard mini blade fuses. Cheap as chips. Your local garage probably has a cellophane pack of them.

I had found the earlier Ignis on fuse-box, the 2016-2019 didn't show up when I was looking for it.

The info matches what I found on a YouTube video.

Mini-blade it is...the ones I chucked out were old so may not have been minis anyway,
