This board is an Investing 'catch-all'

This board is a 'catch all' for Investing topics that do not have their own board. Create a suitable Investing-related topic and off you go.

e.g. Peer to Peer Lending and 'Boring Investment Green Room' topics.

Methinks a catch-all is only going to work if the volume remains low. Otherwise the least-bad outcome is that a clique use it regularly for topics of interest, leaving other (miscellaneous) topics feeling out-of-place.

It doesn't give me the feel of a Right Place for a post such as viewtopic.php?f=33&t=1684 that would've had a natural home on TMF but lacks one here.

That post appears to be about a clean energy company on "Share Ideas". Would it be out of place here Oil & Gas & Energy (Sector & Companies)?

Did that board just change its name?

If it were called Energy, I'd be OK with that. But a board called Oil&Gas? Feels like asking a vegan to work in a burger joint.

It may have been one of the minor name changes mentioned here ** Board Structure ** Phase 3 - 17th December viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1706

The implication might be that Oil & Gas isn't Energy but there's nothing to stop anyone starting an Energy related Topic over at O&G&E (clean or otherwise).
