Re: Corgettes
I'd guess tomatoes from Palomares(Spain ) have a long shelf life, and a longer half-life.

… post-modern metaphysical existentialism.
Gosh, what a superb example of gratuitous philological exhibitionism!

To get back on topic...
Just back from Sainsburys. Plenty of courgettes there. £1.30 for a pack of three so not exactly cheap, but nothing to panic about.
Scott.

Wait, are you suggesting HYD - and possibly the others - have been done away with? Intriguing. Er, I mean, tragic, how awful, etc.

What's the use of a pack of three? Too much courgette to use at once, and way too much packaging. I only ever want to buy single, loose courgettes, and they seem to be less easy to pick up nowadays.

I knew it.
One thread on courgettes and he's back!
Or perhaps it was the mention of HYD, or the fattened calf.
Anyway, whatever it was, it worked... and not before time.
If ever the World needed simsqu, it is now. Just in time for the inauguration of the fattened calf.
Perhaps they'll give him a courgette as a suitable badge of office. That'll be nice and ripe after 100 days, by which time we should be able to judge just how appropriate the courgette was.
That's if he lasts 100 days of course. If it wasn't for the fact that most of the gun owning lobby are Trump supporters, his chances would look bleak,
Anyway I'm definitely going to listen in on the ceremony later. I am just fascinated by what he might have to say.
Give him a chance, I hear you say.
Absolutely.
He may surprise us all and in a good way. You never know in this crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy World.

Thanks. That's another image I've got to try and erase from my mind.
