Re: Trump
What worries me is, he appears to be a bit, well, impulsive
On the other hand, I remember lots of people predicting Reagan would be a disaster, but he ended up being a pretty reasonable president

Re: Trump
Drain the swamp? Or swamp the drain?
I don't bet, so I don't necessarily understand everything, but I see that Paddy Power are offering 4/1 on an impeachment in the first six months. And even Ladbrokes are evens on an impeachment during the first term.

I never did understand what that phrase meant, but his fans appeared to lap it up.
Originally I thought it was vaguely something to do with getting rid of establishment figures, graft, nepotism etc but, as he's appointed all his relatives to government posts and completely got rid of his business interests (to his family), I'm now completely unsure what he meant.

Never mind that, way too bureaucratic and time-consuming; where can I get good odds on an assassination within the first ten minutes?

Not sure you'd get good enough odds. Ladbrokes are only quoting evens on him leaving the presidency through resignation or impeachment in his first term...

Well that would be an interesting bet. Whether Trump gets kicked out before Bush senior pops his clogs.

We seem to be watching this inauguration thing. At least some of them look like they've not had face jobs.

Re: Trump
Good grief! Isn't the inauguration supposed to be top-grade choreographed glitz?
So how do they have a complete non-singer delivering their national anthem? Was it some Trump family member?
I can kind-of see that kind of thing happening in a British occasion: the political correctness of featuring someone on the basis of their disability, misfortune, or something. But Trump as champion of Political Correctness?
