Any views out there on SOLG?

A friend has done very well on Solgold this year and I wonder if anyone out there has any views on it? It all looks solid to me but I am no specialist.

I know no one was very interested in this, but for those that may be, since I posted my question in late Nov the SP has almost doubled. For those following mining, this and Asiamet (ARS) are two big opportunities in the Copper/Gold mining sector.

SOLG stock has done very well, there's no doubt about that, particularly with the surge in the last few days. I had a very quick look at the interim report and corporate presentation released during the week, but didn't see anything that stuck out as an obvious trigger for the jump.

Speaking only for myself, I have a bias against mining companies (like SOLG) that are raising money at a furious pace to finance their exploration and in the meantime have no production, no cash flow and no earnings. I did buy a mining stock in December, but it was Fresnillo (FRES), which is churning out ore, cash and profits in abundance. I haven't looked at Asiamet (ARS).

SOLGs recent assay results have boosted sentiment, as has the increasing Copper price. SOLG have some genuinely world class results from their drilling tests, it also has great pluses in the form of accessibility etc. I would not say they have furiously been raising money, in fact they blew off and investment from BHP Bill I think in favour of a smaller investment from Newcrest. They are fully funded for the next phase of exploration, so little chance of dilution, and a world class potential in both Copper and Gold. This is why the share price has risen sharply, and not just very recently.

As for ARS, they have some stellar results from recent test drills, which is driving is SP rise, but from a much lower point than SOLG.
