So I had another go, this time on my little used desktop and had no problem logging in at all so mission finally accomplished - but can anyone explain the problem with the Samsung?

Sounds as if the browser on your Galaxy is not compatible with the NS&I site, there's a list of supported browsers here:

https://www.nsandi.com/accessibility

If you are using the Samsung browser then it might be worth trying Google Chrome.

I must say I have accessed it twice in the last week for the first time in some years I think. Once I found my password I had absolutely no problems. As others have said, however frustrating it may be, it may be your browser that is incompatible with the site.

and/or clearing the cache etc may help - though the potential incompatibility may render that action redundant of course

I see the Daily Express continues to recycle its article which lets you into the secret of "How to ‘better your chances of winning’" the Premium Bonds.

https://www.express.co.uk/finance/perso ... rs-odds-UK

The answer - buy more bonds, of course!

I really shouldn't follow these links :-)

Scott.

£600 this month on 3 x max family holding.

My lucky wife had a £500 bond coming up. She has form, winning £10k about 3 years ago.

Only 2 x £25 for me on a max holding. Won't even pay for the replacement of the mirror which fell out of a wardrobe door at 4 a.m. recently. I see 2 of the £1m winners had quite small holdings.

Only??!! That's pretty much par for the course, equating to £600 per year on £50k

Yay! £25 for me on a £13.600 holding, £50 total in three months this year so far. I've upped my holding so let's see what happens next month!

Still something stopping me from logging in on my Samsung even though the prize checker app works :x

Well, I've held PBs now for exactly 12 months, and on the maximum holding I have won a grand total of £250.

I put this sum into the MSE Premium Bond calculator[*] and received this message
You have average luck! Only 96.5% of people who have put £50,000 in premium bonds over 1 year win more than £250, meaning you're about spot on.

I can quite understand that 96.5% of people with a £50k holding win more than £250 in one year, what I don't understand is the average luck, only and you're about spot on bit of it !

We 're showing a 1.5% return which beats any instant access accounts currently available.

I'm from Shropshire (think my NS&I account is still registered there) - but dash it all, I don't have £30k so it's not me !
