Good to hear the Premium Bond fund has had its interest rate raised from 1% to 1.4%. In the bonds this is reflected in the overall odds of winning shortening from from 34,500 to 1 to 24,500 to 1.
Who knows, I might yet even win a prize this year!

If you're interested, the above is the result of a Monte Carlo simulation I made of the expected distribution of winnings for a 50k pot over a year using the rates from June 2022 (taking the likelihoods as posted by MSE, modified for June 2022). The top plot shows the probability of winning in logarithmic bins of monetary value. The bottom plot shows the cumulative probability of winning less than X pounds (in red) or more than X pounds (in blue). In probabilities 100%=1, 10%=0.1, 0.1%=0.001=10^-3, etc. It shows the rough range of winnings that should be expectred.
Basically, the simulation does a draw for each pound for each month, then works out the total winnings. I repeat this many times to get the distribution of wins.

2 x £25 on full holding so no increase there. I keep hoping I might win a biggie so that I could splash it on getting some expensive firm to come in and completely revamp my garden to make it easier for me to manage. A hard task so really would have to be a biggie.

4 times £25 for me, a good month in the grand scheme of things, but I've never had more that a £25 win. Mostly I've had 1 x £25 wins, occasionally 2 x £25 and once 5 x £25 but never anything more than a £25 prize, and that's over many years....

£25. I try not to think of what inflation is doing to my £50k!

£150 on 2 x £50k this month, nice to see the increased interest rate kicking in.
I didn't actually look to see what the win was made up of, presumably 6 x 25, as we never seem to win bigger.
One thing has just struck me is how far outside the 'norm' most of the people on this board are. Most of us seem to be in a position to regard having £50-100k in Premium Bonds as a bit of fun. Yes, I know it is secure cash and virtually instant access for emergencies, but it does seem a bit unreal when I look back at our finances 20 years ago.

Like most 'special interest' forums we are a long way from being a representative sample !
(to clarify I've 'only' got £13.6k in bonds)

It's September and I'd have expected Itsallaguess to have made their monthly post so I'll have a stab.

Don't go starting with all that nonsense...
:O)
Thanks for the links - I was planning on posting them up later last night, but I'm glad you remembered as well.
Not sure how everyone else has been seeing things, but it feels like the prizes have definitely ticked up a little since the June prize fund rate increase from 1% to 1.4%.
