BOE Interest rates today (0.75%) up to 3%.

It will be interesting to see what the various banks offer.

As usual, they will wait a while to try and get more people on the lower savings rates.

I'm not an economist, but it seems that the inflation is driven by complex international supply rather than demand, so I wonder how it will work.

But if we can get a one year fixed rate of 5%, at least we are only losing 5% rather than 10%.

Nice to see that the banks are still intent on screw**g us.

The best 1-year rate offered by Monzo went down this afternoon from 4.3% to 4.2%.

Indeed - inflation seems to have been supply driven, and not by a surplus of personal cash. So an increased BOE interest rate seems almost certain to deepen a recession.

Coventry B.S. have withdrawn all their fixed rate ISAs today. Will they replace them with higher or lower rates, I wonder?

If you don't mind me asking, what's the tax situation with these bonds, thanks.

AJBell have had a couple of different 1-year accounts in their savings hub @ 4.5% recently, they haven't changed yet.

I'm hoping for 5% or more for 1 year by next week.

Scott.

These are normal savings products, with the interest taxed ummm, as interest! https://www.gov.uk/apply-tax-free-interest-on-savings

I just checked now, and despite the increase in interest rates, the 1-2 years remains the same at 4.8%.

BUT the 2-3 and over 3-year rates have both come DOWN 0.1%.

My Monzo 1-year offers now at 4.2% (Charter Savings Bank) and 3% (Oaknorth).

Wow! So much to choose from. :x

oddly none of these > 4% accounts seem to appear on MSE/MSM comparison sites. Not enough kickback to those sites?

1. They're not better than the top picks that they (MSE) highlight.

2. They're only available to existing customers.

Scott.
