How long to process an account opening

I applied to open a 2yr fxd rate account on 29 Nov and received acknowledgement;

"Thank you

Your application for a cahoot bond has been received

Your reference number: xxxxxxxxx
What happens next
• We'll email you within three working days quoting your reference number and confirming the status of your application.
• We may ask you to provide some further information to confirm your identity.
Thanks again for choosing cahoot"

Tried to contact Cahoot but got " Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:
cahoot@san
Your message wasn't delivered because the recipient's mailbox is undergoing maintenance and can't accept messages now. Please try resending the message later."

The 3 days are long gone and they are not accepting emails -
I am not prepared to spend hours dealing with a telephone attempt. Has anyone applied successfully and can offer any pointers wrt contact.
I think I might have to complain...

Was the message you got exactly as quoted above? cahoot@san is not (obviously) a valid email address. Did you somehow attempt to send to that? (I presume it's more likely to be a glitch in the error message, or you have edited the message to remove a link, but it's just worth asking in case!

I completed an online application for a 90 day notice account with Ecology Building Society nearly two weeks ago. Still waiting for it to be opened.

I opened an account with Starling in seven minutes flat, from first thinking of it to the account being ready to use.

Well there is open & then there is open.
Account number
Sort code
Debit card
Pin number
Telephone security number
Digital secure key et c etc.
All of which can arrive in different envelopes at different times.

I copied and pasted what I could see
(I'm very aware of my lack of capability so I try to do as told)
I have not seen any sort of message from Cahoot so I guess I'll look elsewhere.

I opened an account with Starling in seven minutes flat, from first thinking of it to the account being ready to use.

Same experience with Monzo. I spent days reading about the bank, looking them up, due diligence etc, then opened the account extremely quickly.

So far, so good. Added to my long list of neobanks for diversification of funds. The only warning bells are the ridiculously low savings rates that they offer.
