So, say you had been given PBs as a child, let's say you had £12 worth. Some 40 or so years later you go online to buy some more, but the system cannot link the 2 old accounts, despite your best efforts to phone and email them.

Why couldn't they link the two accounts? I didn't have any such problem - I cannot remember the details now but, presumably, when buying more bonds I quoted my original Holder's Number.

Absolutely no idea.

I set up an online account for some sort of savings account, but when I decided to buy some PBs as well they couldn't link it to my existing PB holding as it wouldn't recognise the holder number.

I guess the prize checkers (in their various forms: app, website, e-mails etc) will update/appear in due course
https://www.nsandi.com/prize-checker

Some interesting info about how the information is published and about big prize winners.

Not very useful, as it only refers to when the media gets the results.

If you go direct to the source, the NS&I site, then things haven't changed. The big prize winners are available within about half an hour of the start of the first working day i.e. 0:01 this morning.

The main results are available roughly 24 hours later, i.e. you can start looking for then from about 23:30 tonight.

Scott.

The £1M winner who has only had their winning bond since February 2021 (and on a relatively moderate holding) is certainly pretty lucky, but further down the list it's the £5000 winner in Fife on a £40 bond (of a £45 holding) bought in 1985 who might perhaps be the most pleased at some unexpected good news today! :)

2 x £25 on 2 max holdings.

Making about 0.82% on an average holding of £85,700 over the year, slightly worse than "average".

Two lots of £50 this time on 2 lots of £50k, after a couple of dry months.

Feeling a little better about buying that leaf blower on Friday now (yes, about 4 hours before Storm Arwen cleared the lawn of leaves for me).

£50 this month on a 21K holding. Winnings this calendar year are running at 2.35%, not bad really.

The prize checker is showing the next results are on 5 January. The latest prizes on the prize checker are showing only those for December.
