Dividend cuts and cancellations

#322507

Postby Arborbridge » June 29th, 2020, 11:28 am

We seem to be in a quiet patch at the moment: calm before the storm?

As far as I can see, using the following link https://www.dividenddata.co.uk/dividend ... ldividends
nothing of significance to HYPers has happened since Babcock and Johnson Matthey on 11th June.

Keeping an eye out: planning for the worst but hoping for the best!

If anyone has spotted anything not mentioned so far, perhaps HYPers could let us know here or make sure it goes on the main list on the HYSS board,

I have not seen any notices either. It will be interesting to see the half year results to 30 June which I suppose will start appearing around the end of July. That will include the main period of the lockdown.

Hopefully held dividends rather than further cuts but who knows?

I have 15 companies due to report during July, and more in August.

AstraZeneca plc
Unilever plc
Pearson plc
IMI plc
BP plc
Royal Dutch Shell plc B
Segro plc (PID)
Segro plc (Ord Div)
Reckitt Benckiser Group plc
Diageo plc
GlaxoSmithKline plc
Smith (DS) plc
British Land Co plc
Taylor Wimpey plc

Are the ones on my list for July and there will be others.

TJH,

You say you have 15 companies due to report in July, but there are only 14 entries in your list and two of them are for the same company. Did you inadvertently omit an entry or two? Or is there some other explanation, such as a typo, miscounting, or deliberate omission of some company best not mentioned here?

Apologies, I counted 15, but that included Ord and PID for British Land, which I reduced to one, and forgot to do likewise for Segro. It is really 13 announcements. Mind you, there are a couple which I have down for 1st August, which could end up in July - Rio Tinto and BAE Systems.

Imperial Brands has just paid its dividend today and the cut hurts! HSBC would have paid a dividend again next week and between the two, that leaves quite a hole to be filled.

Holders of BP will probably be next to suffer before long, in the same way that holders of Shell (inter alia me!) are suffering.

I'm not checking anything until tomorrow when I'll make up my first six months "books". It'll be a sorry tale, but manageable.
