I hold BA. in my HYP, and know others hereabouts do too, so this may be of interest here.

Ta. I've just had cause to check and BA. has never yielded this little in my holding history - I've never had more income from it. I was able to buy at around 6% and today it's 2.5%. That's the sort of high yield I wish my portfolio was stuffed with, inflation busting long term dividend increases. I should probably sell it...

You're welcome. I must admit that I trimmed my BA. holdings a while ago to buy a higher yielding share. I've no intention of selling any more BA. currently, and am happy to let them be in my HYP. Being ex HM Forces I do have a soft spot for them anyway. ;)

Yes, I also top sliced my BA. holding as it had become the largest holding by some distance at the time. Reinvested in higher yielding shares LXI as I recall.

No need to sell however, as it churns out the division every year.

For me, BAE Systems was the one good thing to come out of the GEC split in 1998. 389p at the split, I very quickly brought them up to full weight, adding the extra shares at 415p. In 2003 I added some more at 136p, yes, 136p and in 2008 they went overweight at 430p and I trimmed by 20%. Added more in 2010 at 300p and again in2011 at 275p. Overweight again in 2016 at 628p, and trimmed back by 25%. Added twice in 2029, at 665p in July and at 470p in October. Overweight again in June 2022 and trimmed by 25% at 775p. Once again in October this year at £10.70 and again trimmed by 25%. This took my average cost negative, at -343p, and my XIRR has been 12.57%. Starting yield was 2.1%, but worth hanging on to.

One of my better performing shares.
