Nice mention for PRD and their "non fracked" LNG proposal.

Solid appointment there in the RNS today.......

.

..........Paul Griffiths, Chief Executive of Predator, commented:

"Today's appointment is significant as it demonstrates Predator's ability to attract high calibre experienced and well-connected Board members necessary to oversee the further development of the Company's businesses. These are in three diverse geographic areas but linked by a global aspiration to reduce CO2 emissions in countries with a high dependence on certain, more carbon-intensive, fossil fuels. The "greener" focus of our strategy established when coming to the market in 2018 has been put into practice and executed. This track record, which incorporates substantive progress on measurable sequestration of CO2 in Trinidad; the identification and de-risking of material gas prospects in Morocco adjacent to infrastructure to potentially substitute for coal in power plants; and the development of our LNG FSRU relationships as a means of providing flexible energy supply to replace coal and oil, is the catalyst for potential M & A transactions. Each of our businesses is ring-fenced in separate wholly-owned subsidiaries. Louis's appointment today is the catalyst for utilising an additional valuable conduit for the Company to spread the Predator business model to peer companies and green funds looking for the right investment opportunity POST-covid19 that combines ethical investment with attractive project economics." ................

Malcys comment:

https://www.malcysblog.com/2020/07/oil- ... d-finally/

Predator has announced that on the 14th of July it made an offer to acquire the entire outstanding issued share capital of FRAM exploration for $1.75m in cash, the offer to be valid for five days. That deadline has expired as Columbus, the parent company of FRAM, is in a proposed merger that prevents disposal of any material asset.

Predator will now wait for the merger between BPC and Columbus to complete before seeking to speak with the organisation again. Recent uncertainty, COVID-19, and market conditions, combined with the extraction of nearly 3 years’ worth of production since Pred......................

I make that the chance to prove up a P50 net recoverable prospective resources of 1.23 TCF of gas from the MOU-1 well.

Thats a lot of gas for a company with a market cap currently of under 10M GBP.

Predator CEO Paul Griffiths looks to do a CO2 sequestration deal with Bahamas Petroleum Aug 3, 2020

London South East caught up with Predator oil & Gas CEO Paul Griffiths. Predator was started in 2017, IPO’d in 2018 and have operations in Trinidad, Morocco and Ireland. Paul gave @LondonSouthEast an in-depth update on strategy and current operations.

We started by asking him about the CO2 sequestration business in South West Trinidad. Paul explained that he had been dealing with Leo Koot, Executive Chairman of Columbus and the CERP team. Columbus have just had shareholder approval for an agreed takeover by Bahamas Petroleum. Paul is waiting for legal approval of the deal and hopes to then discuss his proposals for FRAM, the joint venture with CERP. “We have three options on how to proceed and look forward to discussing those with Bahamas. We think that we have made it clear to the market our preference is to be a CO2 EOR services provider and not to take on licences and to be actively producing conventional oil.”.

As Paul explained, CO2 sequestration means taking CO2 from the atmosphere and putting it into the ground to reduce the viscosity of oil and to make it more mobile, and therefore cheaper, faster and easier to get it to the surface and delivering a higher rate of production per well.

He added: "We are going to do a production rate test on our test well in Trinidad next month and are just waiting for approval for our production facilities to go on site”.

In Morocco the company are waiting for the latest Covid review on August 10th to see if the lockdown there will be lifted. “We hope things will have improved sufficiently to be able to move our rig team from Canada and well service providers from Algeria across borders to be able to drill by October".

Paul welcomed the surprise arrival of ConocoPhillips in Morocco in June as 'obviously fantastic news, to have a SuperMajor next door is fantastic, it couldn’t be more positive'. However, he warned investors not to assume that Conoco would necessarily be looking to do a deal with Predator. “We need to drill a successful well first to derisk it and prove our capability “.

Paul made it very clear that if successful, #PRD will put a development plan together and sell out, rather than develop the project with joint venture partners. “Its always best to take your profit and to leave something on the table for somebody else.”

Turning to Ireland, Paul describes the Irish market for LNG as ‘very difficult because of the political situation’. However the Irish 'need security of energy supply' and only have a gas deal with the UK who are are now outside the EU. Although Irish politicians are against gas currently, Paul believes they will 'see sense at some point'.

As Paul sees it, an onshore gas scheme taking fracked gas from America “is a no-no in Ireland’ . However he has come up with a proposal for a floating regasification unit, an FRSU to attach to the Kinsale Field pipeline and take LNG ashore to Southern Ireland. “The FRSU supplier will pay for the offshore Capex, the major part of the deal, the regulatory authorities are positive and two potential offtakers for LNG signed up for potential gas in 2023. In six months we got traction on this project”.

“We are currently taking a regulatory risk if you like, as Ireland currently sees these fossil fuels as a bad things but we believe pragmatism will come about next year and security of supply will become more important.”

CO2 for EOR is not sequestration, as ordinarily the CO2 come back out along with the associated gas.

However it is commonly spun as sequestration these days.

The reservoir details do matter, so perhaps it genuinely is sequestration in this case ... anyone care to comment ?

Hi dspp.

Yes, PRD;s methodology is that the C02 is sequestered. This is part of their Green credentials, not your average CO2 EOR but CO2 EOR that leaves the gas in the ground.

The proof will be in the pudding.

Below news does make the PRD project of "non-fracked" offshore LNG terminal all the more attractive, and perhaps, the only current viable project to move forward with ?

Morocco is now open to anyone from a visa-exempt country who has a confirmed hotel booking or an invitation letter from a local company.

Canada is one of the countries allowed entry now, and the rig crew is coming from Canada, so we should be looking at a late Q4 spud now then.

Emirates is starting flights in from 18th Sept, so it should be all systems go now.

......Predator Oil & Gas

A detailed interim report from Predator this morning, I am being brief today as I have an upcoming Core Finance interview with CEO Paul Griffiths and will write more after I have had his input.

In the report the company has a cash balance of £2.098m as well as restricted cash held for investment in the Pilot CO2 EOR project. This means that the programme is fully funded in Trinidad as well as in Morocco where much activity is going on behind the scenes. The company raised £4.008m through two oversubscribed placings in the period which had warrants attached and paid in full the outstanding balance of the £746,00 Arato Convertible loan.

The operational highlights were as follows, Phases 1 and 2 of Pilot CO2 EOR Project successfully executed and the company exercised a rig option with Star Valley drilling without entering into any financial liabilities. Also, bids were received for MOU-1 well services and logistical support and an additional high-impact MOU-4 Prospect was identified with over 1 TCF of additional potential prospective gas resources (management estimates). Finally, Predator LNG Ireland was formed, and LNG Business Plan initiated.

Paul Griffiths, CEO commented,

‘During the period, and in the post period, despite the COVID-19 restrictions, we have successfully achieved key milestones in Trinidad through delivering enhanced oil recovery in our Pilot CO2 EOR Project. We will continue to accumulate enhanced oil production from certain CO2 EOR monitoring wells in the AT-4 Block whilst we await approvals to restore AT-5X to production.

In Morocco we have successfully maintained a drill-ready status for the MOU-1 Prospect at Guercif and can re-instate the operational planning and execution once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. An additional high-impact prospect, MOU-4, has been added to the portfolio, which increases the potential for a transaction to drill follow-up wells to MOU-1 whilst a rig and well services are mobilised at the MOU-1 drilling location. This in turn increases the potential for an M & A transaction in the event of a successful and material gas discovery. In June 2020 ConocoPhillips acquired a licence adjoining the Guercif Licence.

We have rapidly advanced the offshore LNG import project for Ireland from a conceptual idea to a stage where we are engaged with regulators and significant global players in the LNG industry to provide an FSRU solution to address Ireland’s security of energy supply’..............

Its got more interesting and exciting for me.

Adding the sums up.

ConocoPhilipps move in on the next door license area - looking on trend at PRD prospects.

PRD now getting a CPR done on a 2nd and even bigger prospect.

PRD talking about cost efficiencies of doing 2 wells and potentially looking for a partner...........

Says to me that talks will progress, once the CPR is done, and perhaps we will see a farm out to ConocoPhilipps who take over as operator and PRD gets a free carry on two wells in the license area.

Given the market values those 2 prospect currently at the sum of bugger all, if PRD can get a JV going with ConocoPhillips then its going to ignite the share price very rapidly.

Even terms like 70% farm out for a free carry on two wells and through to production on discovery (so PRD retain 30% only) would be massive for PRD and the share price.

Going to be exciting once that CPR is done, to see what happens next.

No surprise for me that after CP moved in, suddenly PRD are looking at two wells and not just one......smells like a farm out is coming...... :)
