Tullow Oil (TLW)
Tullow are looking to increase their funds through a rights offer:
The Issue Price represents a discount of approximately 35.3% discount on the ex-rights price of 201.1 pence per Share
The Rights Issue will be made on the basis of 25 New Ordinary Shares for every 49
Much like Igas, do folk believe this a matter of throwing good money after bad (although not in the same quantity)
Cheers,
THC.

Re: Tullow Oil (TLW)
That's what I've been pondering ever since it was announced and I've been a bit surprised by the lack of comment here but I think TLF just isn't as popular as TMF.
Re Tullow, I don't think I'll be taking up the rights. In fact I'm quite keen to get out of both Soco and Tullow, both of which I've held for yonks.
Regards,
Leither.

Re: Tullow Oil (TLW)
Thanks Leither, so does this mean that out current holdings will be diluted and devalued?
Any return will now also be spread more thinly... so time to cut the losses potentially.
Re: Forums, I guess it will take a while to gather the momentum that the old ones had, I hadn't until now when I needed to discuss things, found that they had been closed and this one set up.
Such a shame - was there a reason given for closing the old ones? took me a while to find link to this one!

Re: Tullow Oil (TLW)
THC & Leither,
The Fools That Be took a command decision and shut down TMF.uk because the board software was incompatible with TMF.com board software and business model.
Fortunately Stooz and Clariman did a class act in pulling off the rapid migration to TLF and we have all to thank them for it. Up in Lemon Lounge is more background if you want to read all about it viewforum.php?f=19.
Good to see you around.
regards, dspp

I took some TLW rights for my SIPP and ISA, rightly or wrongly. I don't have large holdings so it was not huge sums and represents a gesture of hope for the future - I am well in the red on my original investments. SOCO has been my largest holding, also held for yonks, and I now hold it for the income. My circumstances are such that I shall soon be taking regular from my ISA.
Oil and Gas used to be one of the best boards on old TMF; then it declined and not much even of what was left transferred over to Lemon Fool. HYP is still pretty good here.

Hmmmn. I've never been entirely convinced by the official explanation, particularly since TMF USA continues to use the same message board format. Also TMF UK ran off the TMF USA servers; it was effectively a subset of TMF USA.
From what I've heard it was decided to switch TMF UK to the same model used by TMF's Australian, Canadian, German and Singapore websites and these do not have public message boards. A contributory factor was that the TMF UK message boards were becoming more trouble than they were worth, particularly after the number of pulled posts rose dramatically across TMF UK after we voted to leave the European Union thanks to a particular group of vocal Remainers who decided that it was fair game to abuse Brexiteers on a regular basis.
TMF USA has a much larger user base and has kept the message boards. This isn't a software thing; both the free and premium service message boards on TMF USA use the same layout as TMF UK used to use (I should know, I've spent a lot of time there, starting a few years before TMF UK existed and I use one of their premium services).

Hello Happy Campers,
ITLOS case no. 23 resolved in Ghana's favour.

Maybe it's time to get back in again?
We'll see in due course.

Good to see you! Others still in departure lounge.
OP knocking on $70. Prices could go either way, depends on response from Iran, any long lasting effects.

Re: Tullow Oil (TLW)
Surprised me too mccracken227. At the time of writing this
GENL -0.8%, HUR -5.2%, PMO Flat, RSE -1.2%, TLW Flat.
Currently E&P SP's suggesting OP rise may not be sustained. We'll see how it develops.
Closely watched, all important, Trading Statement & Ops Update on 15th Jan 2019.

Re: Tullow Oil (TLW)
Morning Gents,
We are now a gang of three? I have been stunned into silence with Tullows performance and was thinking the same as you Mccracken,We need a very good CEO with proven experience someone who can restore credibility, leadership and a future plan .
Tullow is like a jigsaw many parts but needs to be pulled together. We need to under pin the sp with strength just floating on the POO is not much use for the long term investor.
I wish for a Ceo we can support get behind.Just waiting for an update and direction,
Have a good day.

Re: Tullow Oil (TLW)
Morning gents, agree entirely with you subsurface, very frustrating at the moment. I think if oil falls Tullow will but it is not beneficial to the share price with current rises. The ADVFN board has been taken over by a group of idiots and hope they will disappear when things stabilise and get back to normal. Have a good day, Tullow down as I write
Re: Tullow Oil (TLW)
Morning Team,
At the moment we are treading water. Things (hopefully) will become somewhat clearer on Wednesday next week.
T are in a tricky position, as it should really be up to the, as yet unselected, inbound CEO to review strategy and come up with a new business plan.
Given that not expecting too much next week. No nasties would be good start.
