The apparent option for people who make investments for themselves to pay voluntary class 2 NICs has been asked about on this board many times over the years, always up to now with nobody ever answering that they'd done it.
Well now a Lemon has registered with HMRC on that basis. See viewtopic.php?p=458321#p458321
