Valuation of illiquid stock to transfer SIPP
Valuation of illiquid stock to transfer SIPP
Hi I wonder if anyone can assist I wish to transfer a small SIPP from Suffolk Life to Hargreaves’s the holdup is that I have some shares in the SIPP that are illiquid Equator Exploration EEL which cannot be transferred and I am being told I need an independent valuation and let them know how these shares will be held as these shares I believe have no value what is the most cost effective way ..my suggestion of given to charity was rejected !

Re: Valuation of illiquid stock to transfer SIPP
A problem I've had in the past and on that occassion I was also transferring to HL.
In my case my only solution was to transfer everything else and leave the non CREST listed shares with the original SIPP provider. Their only charges were dealing costs so no real problem to me as I haven't done any dealing through them for the past 4 or 5 years and they still "hold" shares which are effectively worthless.
My pension was a SSAS rather than a SIPP so rules might be different.
