Inheritance Planning....your thoughts please

Inheritance Planning and the taxation associated with it is giving my wife and I a lot to think about.

It appears that the potential tax bill for our three children is substantial so I am interested in others thoughts and plans.

You might want to cross-post this query on the Taxes board, as that is where IHT gets discussed. And if you scan back on that board you will find a good number of discussions about mitigating IHT, such as gifts from capital, gifts from income, qualifying AIM shares, trusts, charitable donations etc.

For probate-related matters, this board is appropriate.

There are so many issues that I wouldn't know where to start! One important point is that you should not just think of this as a tax issue. There are a lot of other personal and human issues involved also. Don't let the tax tail wag the dog!
