Titanic Grand Reserve Plum Porter 6.5%. Not as sweet as Plum Porter, smooth and rich. Dangerously drinkable.

At 3:42? The dangers of a season where it's dark far too early!

Tonight I renewed my lapsed acquaintance with Badgers Golden Champion. It was one of my go to summer ales about 15 years ago but it still delivered a warming ray of sunshine on this cold winter night so I had a second too.

I've had some good porters from Sainsburys this winter, it's a nice drink at this time of year. I've had Winter Warmer and Plum Porter from them.

I find myself much more in need of an uplift like that in the season of gloom - November/December. Not so much now when rapidly-returning daylight brightens the mood!

I like those rich dark ales and porters. But tonight, Guiness Zero. 15 nights AFF. Alcohol free February. I think we've had the chat that of the no/low alcohol offering Guiness is pretty enjoyable until about the third can when I notice it's not working; then the beer starts to taste thin.
