Have had a couple of productive days picking damsons and sloes to make damson and sloe gin. Loads of fruit on the trees and bushes, was quite surprised because I thought that the hot weather might have meant a small crop, but other than ripening about four weeks early things were more or less normal. I've made the damson gin but will leave the sloes in the freezer until we get back from holiday. Love autumn and all of nature's gifts.
