Yup, my local is in Leicester. Well, almost. Syston. The Queen Vic should have the Plum Porter, and the Social Club has all sorts of tasty ales* Both in the Good Beer Guide yet again

AC, you really can go off people, you know!
All we need now is Nigella cooking with, or serving, or just in the vicinity of Plum Porter

The Craddock. Blimey. Long time since I went in there.
Was quite regular for a while when my brother was dating his now ex-wife sometime in the mid to late 80's as she lived nearby.

Hi GO
You wouldn't recognise it now - been extended from the old cosy Lounge/Smoke Room/Bar to one massive open space but still with distinct areas - although this may have already been done by the time you went in there The beer is excellent courtesy of a Landlord who won the 'UK Best Kept Cellar' award a few years ago. Its always busy and full and they even have a band on every now and again. Needless to say the beers are well kept and always hit the spot. Pop in next time you're passing through

Re: Wibble!
Just FYI for those getting too excited about ordinary Plum Porter, there's now a Grand Reserve at 6.5% with apparently a lot more plums.

I've not made it to the local Titanic place, must try and get there before they run out.
@Skotch - they get a decent discount for buying 5 casks, but it's worth a look at the rest of the range to bulk out the order. Apparently the Cappucino outsells PP in my nearest Titanic pub (I'm not that keen on coffee), some people rave over the Cherry Dark although it's not so much my thing, the Raspberry Wheat is beautifully balanced (arguably it's better put together than PP) but perhaps more of a summer beer and their normal beers aren't bad either, the likes of Engine Room and Lifeboat.
If you're into PP, keep an eye out for Hanlon's Port Stout from Exeter-ish, it was placed behind PP when it won Speciality Champion of Britain, but even as a PP fan, I tend to the view that Hanlons wuz robbed....
