Error message when trying to access the Lemon Fool
Hi
I keep getting the following message when I try to access this site from my bookmark.
This website is currently undergoing maintenance.
Please try again shortly, we expect this downtime will last no longer than an hour.
Apologies for any inconvenience.
I have deleted the bookmark and resaved, but the error message reappears the next day.
Also when I search for Lemon Fool and try to access the site I get the same message, if I click on the main Lemon Fool heading.
However, if I click on one of the the headings - 'How do I invest' or 'About the Site' etc. I can then access the all the site.
Any ideas why??

Re: Error message when trying to access the Lemon Fool
I had this problem on my mobile phone. I deleted the link to Lemon Fool on Chrome, then did a Google search and clicked on a link to "Unread Posts". This then appeared as a link on Chrome's front page and has worked ever since.
The original link seemed to have become a link to the page you describe. My PC has not had the same problem

Re: Error message when trying to access the Lemon Fool
I had the same problem for two days recently. The site appeared to be down for a good deal more than the one hour the error message stated.
When i eventually got back in it appeared that normal discussion had continued while I was locked out.
I didn't explore googling the site or anything, imagining it was to do with a site upgrade to fix the slow page loading problem we've had recently.

I've cleared my cookies and temporary files, but still no joy.
Cheerio then.

Re: Error message when trying to access the Lemon Fool
I saw the message just once on the 25th.
Firefox, windows 7.
So I doubt that it's a Lemon problem.

Re: Error message when trying to access the Lemon Fool
I was getting the message for a while on Firefox and Windows 11. Using one of the sites that does a global check informed me that it was my computer that was the problem. Pressing "Refresh" (function key F5) cured it.

Lots of problems with the site not loading and a timed out error message today. Or a SQL error too many users message.

I've had the same issue across a number of forums so assumed it was an underlying issue not unique to here.
I've been kicked out and had to log back in again but the performance/error messages seems to have subsided.

Appreciate that Stooz is a busy chap but it might be helpful if we get a short report on what technically goes wrong each time, as often the symptoms of subsequent outages seem very similar - so potentially there could be systems put in place to prevent them happening again (running costs permitting of course...).
There are free automations avaialble for things like free lets encrypt certificates to be updated, free CDN site mirroring (up to certain traffic thresholds obviously) et al which could all lessen downtime / offline issues...

Is it a case of funding which would allow the site to move to a better more stable platform?

The technicalities are above my pay grade, but I had wondered that.
As I sit here reading and posting, it's getting slower and slower....

No problem here. Since the outage, the site has been extremely snappy here, probably better than it's ever been.

Stooz may not have the technical knowledge. You could offer your services? admin@lemonfool.co.uk

During this morning's session it has fluctuated between snappy and
I do not notice this variance in other sites I frequent.
No criticism of the site owners, I am sure they find all this very frustrating. If pouring a bit of money on the problem would help, I expect users would be happy to chip in.

I'll chip in, if it's a secure payment method. Can stooz confirm if it's a fundraising ssue, and how much needed?
