Definitely some weird DNS shenanigans...

I flushed the desktop W10 DNS cache, cleared all browsers LF saved site data, deleted bookmarks, restarted, no joy on any browser. Still getting the old site.

I'm typing this from Chrome on Android from my phone.

I use 3 as my ISP and encrypted 1.1.1.1 DNS via the Cloudflare warp+ app. For mobile and everything else via the tethered WiFi hotspot from the Pixel 3a.

Tried via Google and DDG search engines.
I did have mobile access to the new site via multiple browsers initially, but that has stopped now and it's Chrome only currently.

I'm assuming there's still some 'optimisation' going on...;)

You can actually go and flush Google's DNS cache for specific entries: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/cache

I did so for the A and NS records for lemonfool.co.uk and http://www.lemonfool.co.uk

(and changed my own DNS to point to Google)

And I'm now working again, but of course could be coincidence.

Scott.

I got in briefly at 5PM on the 11th, then it went back to the generic 'site is being upgraded...' message. Then I got back in at midnight, but was kicked back out to 'maintenance' message again when I tried to post.

Then the server went down for four hours and it just said '/ cannot be found on the server' when I typed the LF url.

These don't seem to be DNS related, I tried 8.8.8.8, 1.1.1.1 and my ISP's DNS (BT), all gave the same results. Now all of them seem to be working again, regardless of which DNS i use.

Any chance it's fixed (this time)?

I failed to get back until this minute. Pure coincidence perhaps but I got here via a saved bookmark to a random post.

Before that, earlier this morning, all I could find was The requested URL / was not found on this server.

Merely for the record, the old data for most ever online has gone. What we now see is:

In total there are 36 users online :: 3 registered, 1 hidden and 32 guests (based on users active over the past 5 minutes)
Most users ever online was 62 on 12 Dec 2019 05:46

https://mxtoolbox.com/domain/lemonfool.co.uk/

There are DNS issues being flagged up still.

I ran several MXToolbox tests last night during the outage, I'd suggest it might be worthwhile taking advantage of the free account(s) facility to set up some free real time monitors for the domain.

I've logged on twice this morning from Android phones using Google Chrome.

In each case Chrome came up with a 404 "site not found" page. Then after deleting the cookies I could log on as normal.

I appear to have across the board access at the moment, Desktop, Chromebook, phone, multiple browsers on all. Logged in, not being logged out...

I did clear the decks last night though on DNS, cookies et al, so If you've still got issues try that.
Google and DDG are pointing in the right direction as well now.

Hopefully it's something that can be fixed centrally. If it requires individual users to do something, even just clearing cache or cookies, then we'll probably lose a fair proportion permanently, because they'll just think the site is dead.

For the record, I can get in with Chrome on my Android phone and Firefox on my Windows PC, but not Chrome on the PC even after clearing data (gets a 404 error).

Scott.

I had to find the site by Google and delete my old bookmarks as well. May clear the cookies too if I get more problems....

Same for me. I have accessed through my samsung phone, but cannot through my laptop, which continues to report "Not Found".

Of four machines, all on the same WiFi router, three have no problems while the fourth has a persistent 404 in all browsers...

Not Found
The URL / was not found on this server.

No amount of flushing the DNS or clearing the browser cache can get it to work more than for a brief moment. The 404 returns shortly, often when trying to post. A Ctrl+F5 can restore the page, but the 404 will still crop up again.

I'm fortunate in that I probably couldn't manage to flush anything. If of any relevance, I now have access on the three machines I'm using. Perhaps its all about perseverance, as well as technical stuff which is beyond my paygrade.

Until I don't!

Edit: Spoke too soon. The iPhone using Safari now doesn't function.

Well if you're going to be picky, how about "under going" (undergoing).

Well if I was being picky I'd have highlighted that and also "be be" too, but I was actually being amused and so highlighted just the one that amused me. :D

Machine four seems to behave now, after:
    ipconfig /flushdns
    in Firefox, clear browser cache
in Firefox > about:preferences#privacy > Cookies and Site Data > Manage Data, delete all lemonfool cookies
there are 3 lemonfool.co.uk cookies that return, but there was also a www.lemonfool.co.uk cookie that has not come back, that may have been the culprit?

I'm getting patchy access on Windows 10 Chrome, but sometimes '404 not found'. Android Chrome is 100% '404 not found'.

It's up, it's down, It's up, it's down. Can't make any sense of what's going on.
Win10/Chrome finally worked this morning, but my android tablet and phone (via my wifi) failed. Finally got them running, not sure how, then my Win10 Chrome. Firefox, Edge. Opera failed with a "not found" message.
Then switched on my SurfEasy VPN (connected to a USA site) and it worked. Currently trying using Opera and its built-in VPN and it works, enabling me to type this message, even though my non-VPN Chrome shows "404 not found"

I assume that using an encrypted VPN means I an not using my normal ISP (BT) DNS, but then why are my android devices working OK, but Win10 is not?

Weird in the extreme
