The Lemon Fool

For the last day or two I find I need to Login every time I access the forum, that's despite clicking on the 'Remember me' box. I've tried clearing my cookies, but that makes no difference. Any ideas? Is it only me?

Getting this too. Three times today so far.

Solution: use https:// not http:// to access TLF

Any connection to http://www.lemonfool.co.uk breaks the login.
Connecting to https://www.lemonfool.co.uk works just fine.

You may have to update/replace old bookmarks in your browser.

Except there is a problem for stooz, because just typing www.lemonfool.co.uk takes you to the insecure, and thus broken, site.

The SSL was renewed yesterday, so it should be ok now? Let me know if not.

It works fine if you deliberately visit the secure site. But typing in simply www.lemonfool.co.uk takes you by default to the UNsecure, and thus not working version. Need to update the DNS?

Hi all, I have just fixed this and any attempt to use http:.... will redirect you to a https:// version so hopefully that resolved it.

It wasn't DNS. well it could possibly be resolved that way, but no, it was a poorly setup redirect.

I'm still getting this log out issue and I'm going via an HTTPS bookmark (which I repopulated after 'phpBB server gate update' a while back... )
Chrome version 80.0.3987.132 (Official Build) (64-bit)

There also seem to be some server slowdown issues at the moment, not sure if that's contention ratio linked / something else or linked to the log out issue.

I've subsequently run some MXtoolbox diagnostics and can't find any issues on the WAN side of things, so I'm guessing it's internal server/phpBB issue(s)?

OK I cleared all my site cookies and that seems to have speeded everything up back to normal and so far no log outs.
I've been here before with cookies though, so we'll see...

Still getting logged out, the preview function is losing posts too. I normally use a Google Chrome Keep extension (highlight text, right click, save selection to Keep) for longer posts as a clipboard safety, but a short post with quotes just go lost. I've seen others mention this too.

Polite suggestion.
It might make sense for someone with phpBB and hosting techie experience to offer their services to Stooz, the same issues have been cropping up over the years, get rectified and then crop up again on server/software updates (from what I can surmise).

I am getting this frequently this past week. My worry is that it will discourage more infrequent users?

Try deleting your lemon fool cookies and try again. Are you using an add blocker?
