Same for me this last couple of days.

Pages load so slowly the site is virtually unusable. What's happened?!!

The site was near-unusable because of excessive slowness for me last night as well, but currently working at normal speed. As to what's happened, viewtopic.php?f=101&p=453290#p453290 might be the answer - I know that stooz said in it that he would "add more info on dates and even times as it gets closer here", but that obviously assumes that he himself knows when things are going to happen in advance...

Ditto. It's been behaving like that for me on and off for quite a few days now. I was about to report it as a problem until I read that notice you linked to.

It has been an issue in the late afternoon and early evening for the last few days. I wonder if something is tying up the server at this time?
