By way of an explanation there was a time, quite a while ago, when these rows of chortling emoji were interpreted by some of us as an amplification of the laughing-at-you sentiment, so we reigned them in by discouraging them and removing the repetitions. Personally I don't think rows of grinning icons really help in a discussion. I think it makes the place look a bit crude.
