So what's all that about then? I don't think I've posted anything untoward lately and what's my IP got to do with it rather than my username?
Just logged in anyway via a VPN but I'll see what happens at the witching hour of 9:52 this evening...................

9.52 for me too. If I use the NordVPN to login from Greece instead of UK, I can get past the ban.

Same for me too - also to 09:52 PM - though trying a different IP (5G network, then a VPN) didn't help

Sounds like a common problem. Stooz and others need to sort out this nonsense. I cannot believe this is a charitable enterprise considering the number of ads so let's take off the gloves and say that it is about time that they got the various problems sorted. Or at least tell us what is going on.

I actually emailed Stooz more than 12 hours ago on the matter. Of course, he/she is not obliged to reply directly to me - indeed I expressed my email as an FYI - and they did not.

Whatever was tried in the interim did not help - only the arrival of 09:52pm did.

I think why this thread has gained traction is the commonality of this 09:52pm time and the fact the title is close to the message received on the site.

Below is a copy of an email I tried to send to the Board Administrator and Stooz, earlier today. I used [edit]the email at the bottom of the page[/edit] as the other email address, in addition to the noreply address!

Have I really been banned from Lemon Fool until 9.52 this evening, or this this yet another flaw in the system? I am certainly aware that I have not posted anything in the slightest contentious, so I can only conclude it is a glitch in the system.

You may also wish to look into the fact that, the message displayed, when I try to log in, says contact the Board Administrator, highlighted in blue, which when I click on it, provides me with the above "NoReply" email address, so I am also copying this email to what I think from memory might be Stooz's email address, on the assumption that the "no reply" address won't work or be seen!

I have only just been able to access and read the forum, since 9.52pm.

NB. I can't see the point in requesting members to contact a "no reply" email address, in the event of a problem.

It seems to be sorted now. It doesn't seem like nonsense to me. It seems as if, as stooz has kindly told us, that the site is migrating to another host and there may be some teething issues. I think it's bordering on inflammatory to attempt to rally support with a call to action of "let's take off the gloves". stooz and Clariman have both told us what is going on.

Why are you being so disingenuous about the effort that is being made?

I tried to email about my suspension earlier but as it was a noreply at lemonfool.co.uk address I didn't feel there was much point...

There's understandable 'teething problems' whenever major changes like this take place which I will be tolerant towards, but when some of the basics aren't covered before making those changes - like an effective comms policy for people with no access to the site then my patience starts to wear a bit thin...

The IP bans could be because of 'listing' issues with your WAN IP addresses - I checked out my address and it was on four lists but that is the nature of CGNAT IPv4 addresses - there are literally millions of WAN IP addresses on lists...

Changing WAN IP made no difference to the ban...

It was first reported at 6pm yesterday, in a thread that started off with other problems but had considerable discussion there on this problem. viewtopic.php?p=610255#p610255

And since then there has been the "YOU HAVE BEEN BANNED messages" announcement by Stooz viewtopic.php?p=610829#p610829 and "Banned by "security" tools!" viewtopic.php?f=104&t=40413

Much the same happened with the recent SSL issues with folks starting multiple threads on the same matter....

This is the 3rd discrete manifestation of an access to the site issue - each looked very different (to me at least).

Hence my earlier comment that this title and the commonality of the 09:52pm timing, both attracted attention and suggested something new/different was happening.

The first manifestation was covered by some of the threads you linked to and the second one was rather odd - having a diagram of sorts as part of the error message.

However, if you look at the threads in the Suggestions to Improve the Site board it seems quite a few folks class fixing transient site issues as suggestions for improvement...

I think I had this one too. It was a 502 error, ostensibly originating from secureserver.net, with suggestion that the server was down behind the site Firewall. It advised trying again later which I did and found the problem had resolved itself.

Maybe so, but this thread should never have been started given that Stooz had already posted a YOU HAVE BEEN BANNED messages announcement.

'tis always a good idea to look for existing information before posting asking for it. (And yeah, I'm sure you can find some example of me failing to read before posting!)
