Wouldn't it be better to just have a message saying, "You have just recced this"?

Because, the last thing I wanted to do was to actually thank rusty dalek-breath for his post. It was a rubbish post. I was merely placing my rec there for the posterity of being the first rec I had ever deposited upon a post here at the Lemon Tree. I wanted it to be deposited on a Pink pepperpot post.

Now I discover that it wasn't a rec at all, but a "thanked for the post" thingamajig.

Still, its a start, and now that we've started, please could you placed thanked for the post, post thank upon this post.

Whilst I have to agree, when I clicked on the little thumb, I was told I had just been thanked for the post. A bit unlikely, as I hadn't made the post in the first place!

Yes - it does look as if the message is a bit wrong! (PD has gained another thank for this though!) I could remove it, but given all the debate on the other thread about what people might think I mean by that, I won't

I trust readers have noted the time stamp on my post thanking stooz for his efforts. It was 2 minutes before his official announcement and, in many years to come, may be cited as the first ever valid Rec This! post on LMF. It wasn't the first ever post recced though. That was something I did elsewhere, a few seconds beforehand, unless stooz or others trialled the option earlier than I did. No prizes for guessing on which board it was applied.

In any event, the mention of the exact wording of the thank you message is clearly an attempt to entice others to use the thumb. In order to enable those with a short memory to check the position. I've therefore done as instructed and find the message to be:

"You have just been thanked for the post."

Which is what Biggles and others have said.

If you hover your cursor over the thumb on this message, you will see a similar preview message: "say thanks to the author of the post: Bink333"

My only suggested improvement here would be to insert the word Frankie at the start.

Much better, thanks, and agreed/IMO it just took up time/bandwidth in getting specifically confirmed when you can see from the page your vote has been registered.

Might it be appropriate to amend the 'Boards Marked Read' pop-up confirm too? Same problem for me, ie I don't need it to be specifically confirmed and it just takes time.
