This evening I'm at home while my food is in the slow cooker.
A delicious smell (the strongest component being the onions) is pervading the house, and I'm ravenous. But I have to wait two hours before eating it. YOUR WIFE IS A BIG HIPPO!
Now I remember why I think of the slow cooker as something to come back to when I'm out for the evening doing something other than eating!

Got it right this evening.
Arrived home to a lovely smell, and only had to wait the ten minutes it took to boil up some pasta[1] before I could eat it
Tomorrow I shall divvy up what remains between the fridge and the freezer.
[1] And grate some cheese, and pour a glass of wine.
